Emplyment
2024 - 2025 | Oxford Product Design | Product Design Consultant
Worked across multidisciplinary product development programmes, designing, building, and validating functional prototypes for medical and laboratory devices in lean R&D consultancy environments.
› End-to-end prototype development & test rig design: Delivered fit for purpose prototypes across a full range of fidelity, from rapid proof-of-concept models to fully functional alpha devices to fit the needs of the project and client. Built and refined electro-mechanical test rigs using manual and digital fabrication to optimise microfluidic diagnostic consumables production line.
› Product development (medical): Key contributions to the design and engineering of point-of-care UTI diagnostic systems, by applying considered rapid troubleshooting to accelerate development. Independently delivered client-focused solutions, including laboratory seal verification equipment.
› CAD & design for manufacture: Produced CAD models in Solidworks ranging from early-stage concepts to detailed assemblies and production-ready components for external manufacture to support successful project delivery.
› Electronics integration & development: Designed, assembled and debugged wiring harnesses, Arduino and Python based control systems and PCB rework to support successful diagnostic systems project delivery. Ensured stable and reliable client operations by validating systems using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and bench equipment.
› Workshop leadership & optimisation: Led the development and operation, improving layout, workflows, and equipment capability to increase productivity, safety, and output quality. Managed a small team, implemented maintenance and safety systems, and introduced structured processes spreadsheets for inventory, training, and compliance, reducing project delays.
› Fabrication: Acting as a key point of delivery I applied extensive hands-on experience in manual and digital manufacturing, including lathe/mill, CNC machining, 3D printing (FDM/SLA), and laser cutting, to support high performing prototype development.
› Operational systems & documentation: Supported regulatory and ISO 9001 compliance by creating and implementing impactful systems and documentation for inventory, maintenance and safety, adopted across the company. Produced reliable structured documentation, test records, and workflows critical to project sign-off.
2021 - 2023 | ARRIVAL | Prototype Engineer
Key member of the product innovation team involved in the build and testing of new concept technologies, communicating and working directly with designers and engineers from across the business.
› Fast-paced design iterations: Delivered in-house prototyping using hand tools, laser cutting, 3D printing and CNC allowing engineers to rapidly develop and sign off parts.
› Electronics integration: Enabled immersive and meaningful user experience testing by implementing mock-up electrical systems and sensors into commercial van cabin and central touchscreen interface using soldering, C++ and Arduino.
› Accurate and detailed model-making: Attention to detail on replica electric vehicle parts saved time and costs by catching design improvements early. The 1:1 scale prototypes I made enabled critical ergonomic user testing which informed significant architectural design decisions.
› Optimised Prototype Delivery: Introduced new digital (Atlassian JIRA) and physical workflows to significantly improve in house prototype turnaround time. The method helped match designers’ requirements to specific processes and materials, so parts were always fit for purpose, saving time in the development process.
› 3D printer operations and maintenance lead: Managed maintenance schedules, breakdowns and delivery of parts from our internal print bureau. Provided quicker and cheaper service then outsourcing on Stratasys FDM and Polyjet, desktop FDM and MSLA.
› Stimulated efficient and higher quality product development: Designed, delivered and managed a high-quality workshop space to ensure that the facilities were ready to tackle any engineering challenge. Attention to detail in the layout, tool storage and labelling encouraged a good workshop culture of keeping things in their rightful place, speeding up workflows.

Product Design and Electromechanics
I have a strong enthusiasm for anything that makes use of movement, electronics and lighting. I have taught myself how to use electrical components like Arduino, LEDs and stepper motors. When the opportunity occurs I strive to use what I have learned to help benefit the outcome of the project.
Modelmaking
Being a modelmaking graduate, I am equipped with a diverse range of making skills including workshop machinery, hand tools, moulding, casting, spray finishing, CAD, CAM and electronics.
Film and Stage Production
On the side of my studies, I was involved with many on and off-stage productions, filling roles from prop maker to director of photography and Technical director. Technical theatre and stage lighting gave me many opportunities to grow teamwork and leadership skills. I built my leadership, communication, and lateral thinking skills within production teams to overcome problems and help create and manage successful shows.
Digital
Competent and experienced in Solidworks, Rhino 3D, Fusion 360, Google Sketchup and Adobe Suite software including Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Premier Pro. Understanding of Grasshopper, Adobe After Effects and 3Ds max.
Since 2012 I have been using software to enhance my learning, thinking, creativity and design.  I have wide interests and broad technical skills and enjoy seeking out and learning to use the right digital tool for the job.
